Why Partner with Mayura

Consistency you can build a business on

In a market where the word Wagyu appears on everything from burgers to hot dogs, Mayura offers what the term originally meant: exceptional genetics, meticulous husbandry and uncompromising standards.

Established in 1997 with some of Australia’s first live 100% Full-Blood Wagyu cattle, Mayura is now one of the world’s most elite Full-Blood breeding operations — and a single, dependable origin for the buyers who represent it.

  • Fully Traceable
  • Single Origin
  • Family Owned
  • Consistent Supply

Provenance

One family, one origin

Every animal is 100% Full-Blood Wagyu, born, raised and fed on Mayura Station — never blended from multiple sources.

  • 100% genetically pure Wagyu
  • Traceable to Japanese bloodlines
  • Single origin, Limestone Coast

Consistency

Graded, uniform, predictable

Independent grading and an unusually long feeding programme keep quality tightly clustered around target — not marble score 9 in one shipment and 6 in the next.

  • Marbling typically 7–9+ (A4–A5 equivalent)
  • AUS-MEAT grader plus MIJ camera
  • Uniform across 32 cuts

Supply

Vertically integrated

Mayura controls its own breeding, cropping and feeding, so supply and standards are managed end to end.

  • Own grain & fodder production
  • HGP-free and antibiotic-free
  • Reliable, year-round supply

The Case

Why single origin matters

Much of the Wagyu marketed globally is crossbred — typically Wagyu over Angus — which introduces the variability that makes consistency hard.

Mayura’s Full-Blood animals, raised in one place under one programme, remove that variability. For a distributor, single origin is not a marketing line; it is the reason the product performs the same for every client, every time.

Verified

Consistency you can measure

Each animal is graded independently by an AUS-MEAT approved grader, then assessed again with Meat Image Japan digital-camera scoring for marbling beyond AUS-MEAT Marble Score 9.

Mayura holds the Australian record for the highest MIJ marble score at 22.5. More importantly for buyers, the breeding and feeding programmes cluster results tightly around target, so eating quality is predictable regardless of when an order is placed.
