Mayura Station
The Property
4,500 hectares on South Australia's Limestone Coast — the terroir, climate and limestone soils behind Mayura Full-Blood Wagyu.
The Property
The Limestone Coast difference
Mayura Station sits near Millicent in the Limestone Coast of South Australia — in the heart of some of the best farming country in the nation, ranked the country’s number one area for primary production in 2014.
Forged over 26 million years by the ocean and the movement of tectonic plates, the region has been sculpted into rolling terra-rossa hills and unique, fertile peat valleys. A temperate climate, clean air, sparkling water and reliable rainfall create ideal conditions for raising Wagyu cattle.
Terroir
Limestone soils that shape the beef
What truly sets the region apart is its limestone-rich soil, which influences the mineral content of the pasture grasses and, ultimately, the cattle’s development and the flavour of the beef.
The cattle roam in 10,000 m² cells and are moved from one to the next to let the pasture rest. These cells are placed on limestone hills, so the animals receive their calcium requirements naturally. Location, in agriculture, matters — and here nature does much of the work.

Paddock to plate
A vertically integrated operation
Mayura Station is a fully vertically integrated Full-Blood Wagyu producer — cattle are bred, born, raised and grain-fed here, on the property.
A large-scale cropping program supplies a state-of-the-art, purpose-built grain-feeding facility complete with shelter. Controlling the whole chain in one place delivers complete traceability — a genuine paddock-to-plate experience — and keeps the Full-Blood Wagyu beef free of hormone growth promotants (HGP).
